I also lost sound, installing daedalus with KDE on a ThinkPad P16. It
had been working with chimaera.
I *think* I solved the problem by manually installing
"firmware-sof-signed". During installation I did get a message about
needing something --- perhaps a signature files of some sort --- from
external media; didn't have it, so I just chose "skip".
