Well, the semantic discussion could be interesting; is Devuan an
underling, a side-kick or a sibling to Debian, or something else? Many
of us, or you rather, have a history wrt Debian, so I wouldn't dare to
voice any opinion (even if I had one) :)

But, what came first to my mind was rather whether or not there is an
advantage for Devuan partaking in the initiative. And, in a short, I
think not.

Joining it would imply a fair amount of ongoing effort, and then also
"give away" some control of how Devaun is presented with respect to
Debian; there is a "QA procedure" that makes demands on the
"derivatives" -- minor demands for now, of course.

This would be done in order to make "Devuan" appear in that pool of
"derivatives", to possibly be seen by some who are pondering Debian
offshoots/relatives (via that pool). I don't think those negatives are
balanced by that possible advantage.

On the other hand, perhaps there is an advantage for the Linux community
as a whole to have such a database? And then, does that balance out the
implied negatives? Hmm, I think I need some few more days to lick on
that one..

Ralph.
