Thanks for the quick reply,

Nothing really explains how to get it started.  the debian notes involve
systemd and starting it as a service. It starts if I issue the command
on the command line, but the sound preferences tell me it's disabled.
I've started all three, but nothing. It shouldn't be this hard.
