What DE(display environment?) are you running?

For xfce, use application menu ->(right click), choose settings, then
choose 'mouse and track pad", then choose theme(RHS) then increase
cursor size.
I find adwaita the best theme for me. YMMV,

I you ever 'loose' the mouse try doing a shimmy/shuffle it around.
That is supposed to temporarily increase the cursor size.
