:-)

I've never been afraid to kludge when it comes to packages, so my
solution was:

chattr i /etc/resolv.conf

:-)

Back in 2010-2013 when I used Ubuntu, I renamed the plymouth executable
to get rid of plymouth.

I know my methods don't work for most people, and aren't the right way
to do it. Do as I say, not as I do.
