I wouldn't say "stuck with EXT4", as it's a pretty decent
file system, has never let me down. It's always been the
footgun that got me ;-)

"Stuck with" I reserve for, for example, Windows. The first
Tandy 5 1/4" floppy disk computers had a filesystem bug
that would eventually corrupt your disk. The shipped
their first product with those bad bugs to every
customer. There was a patch within some months.

I went to work in a translation agency in those days,
got to watch and work with those early machines.
It was Wordstar at first, though I don't remember
using that program. Later I got to be great friends
with XyWrite, which was when PC clones came out
and I went to Singapore in search of cheap hardware.
