I had my home on ZFS some years ago. Maybe the problem is that it
isn't native on Linux.
It happened that, because I had a /boot partition (stupid me!)
which was full, a linux-image upgrade failed without me noticing it. My
box was unable to reboot and I had to reinstall Devuan. After that I was
unable to recover my ZFS filesystem. I bet its description was in some
obscure file which was lost on the way. By chance I had a rather recent
backup. I'll never again store my home on a filesystem which is not
Linux-native.
I dislike BTRFS because it does too many things which I don't want
to fill my head with. Therefore I'm stuck with EXT4.
