I have no way to know the the orignal size of /bin, /sbin/ and
/lib, but they where were contained in a 20 Gb root partition. So
they must have been well under 20 Gb. The merge put more into
/usr that it should.

Indeed, there is much in at least /bin that I don't think should be there;

For exaample, the files in /bin start with: [ 411toppm a2ps
a2ps-lpr-wrapper a5booklet aa-enabled aa-exec aa-features-abi
abc2ly abcm2ps abook aclocal. Non of there are in /bin in another
machine.

I don't back up the /bin /sbin /lib directories.

I concluded I had no choice but to install on another excalibur
on another disk and abandon the OS on the current disk.
Unfortuantely, the machine will not boot the key holding tge
excaliber ISO. The key works well on another machine.
