If it's 100% full, then yes, you have a problem.

Well, what separate sizes did you start from? There is no "standard size" for
the directories on a machine - it depends on what you've installed.

LVM is a simple solution to this sort of problem.
Okay, it's not a (convenient) solution on an already-partitioned machine, but
I thoroughly recommend it for future setups. Other than VMs at a hosting
provider, I use LVM on everything.
