Not spam. probably a little anger at all the systemd in there. I'm
thinking that network manager pulled it in.  How would I rip all that
out of there by the roots?

I apologize for being a little annoyed. This was a new machine that came
with Windows and I spent 2 days trying to get it updated and get media
created so that I could swap out the drive and install devuan only to
find out it seemed a little messed up.
