I use Xfce, Lxde and Openbox. For some specific tasks (packaging, git...) I use my own
terminal that displays a custom popup menu. It's based on VTE. Otherwise I use either
xfce4-terminal or Sakura.

Btw, a new minimalistic DE is being developed for the Raspberry Pi. As far as I know,
it's Gtk3 (not Gtk4), but it's Wayland only and uses the Weston compositor [*]:
