In case udisks2 is installed on your system and you are okay using it, you
may like to look into "udisksctl mount" for that. But not sure whether it
can work as unprivileged user.

Quite a while ago I used "pmount". Nowadays I most often just mount using
Plasma. Except for encrypted BCacheFS, this first needs unlocking on
command line.
