I use lprng and lpr, postscript printers, works very well; and an
A2 inkjet, can be run thrugh gimp/gutenprint.

Like a2ps <file> | lpr ?
Works best with an all postscript workflow, if you have inkjets, there
will be some headaches. Old matrix type printer, no problem, just maka
sure \n is converted to \r\n on output.
