That's nonsense.

Most browsers were updated, instead of newly installed.

The feature was activated silently.

Do you really expect users to follow Mozilla blogs to know?

Yeah, Mozilla argued they do this is favor for the users, as the
alternative would be worse.

But is this their decision to make?

With Plasma I can be sure: All data collection feature are opt-in.

Without exception.
