Subject: [DNG] There seems to be some strong disagreement in Debian regarding usrmerge
Hi!

On todays update on Devuan Ceres

dpkg (1.22.2) wird eingerichtet ...
dpkg: warning: This system uses merged-usr-via-aliased-dirs, going behind
dpkg: dpkg's warning: back, breaking its core assumptions. This can cause
dpkg: silent file warning: overwrites and disappearances, and its general
dpkg: tools misbehavior.
dpkg: warning:
dpkg: See <https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/Dpkg/FAQ#broken-usrmerge>.

(reformatted to fit mail line length)

Did not find much in recent changelog, but it may be that they silenced
this warning on Debian and Ubuntu and its just appearing on Devuan and
other Debian derivatives.

I new about (some) dpkg maintainers disagreeing with the current approach
regarding usr-merge, but it is the first time I saw this warning.

Best,
