Greetings

I changed the general: useragent: override to true as per your
suggestion. Things have worked well for about a month.
Now - - - no longer.
I note that it is possible to delete this particular configuration.

Any further suggestions - - - - ?

(On this forum - - - - I am not able to log into the forum which means
that I get to read posts but am not able to post myself. Likely this is
some kind of goofy setting of something in a M$ version of
Chrome (the likely optimization point for the forum software) that
forces this garbage. )
