sshfs does go down occasionally, but not as often. That may
be because I don't use it as often.
I believe sshfs is completely dormant when no one is using its
networked file system, going down is usually not a problem --
just starting it up again usually works.

So the apparent reliabiity of sshfs may not be very relevant.
