Yes. Most machines I’ve run into won’t boot from USB3. I take it as a rule of thumb that machines will not boot from USB3 even if I’m using an USB3 stick. The machine might detect the USB3 stick in the USB3 jack as a drive, but it still wouldn’t boot from it. I always use a USB2 jack on the machine. It works every time.
