# Devuan meet 2021-06-17 @20:30 UTC

Present: Xenguy, golinux, adam (late), Erich, fsmithred, LeePen, Rick
Moen, rrq, bgstack15

## Old Business

### bgstack15: freeipa-client and dependencies
* pam-mkhomedir has been
[built](https://jenkins.devuan.dev/job/devuan-package-builder/588/) in
jenkins
* provides `oddjob-mkhomedir`
* python3-ipalib is
[done](https://jenkins.devuan.dev/job/devuan-package-builder/596/)
with the rest of the freeipa client-only packages
* now depends on `systemd | systemctl-service-shim`
* freeipa-server is not recommended even on Debian, so there is no way
we can reasonably support it in Devuan
* systemctl-service-shim has been
[built](https://jenkins.devuan.dev/job/devuan-package-builder/598/) in
jenkins

### rrq
* chimaera alpha netinstall iso now has the updated (final?) udebs.
testing needed.
https://files.devuan.org/devuan_chimaera/installer-iso/ (mirrored)

### LeePen

#### Amprolla
* Updates to recursively removed banned packages and their dependencies
are in testing and working well. Revealed a couple of other issues: 1.
default-dbus-session-bus was not provided by any Devuan package. Now
fixed in ceres and chimaera with update to src:dbus, provided by
dbus-x11. 2. Unsupported architectures have leaked into merged/ on
pkgmaster and the mirrors. The following directories need to be
removed once the amprolla fix is deployed:- > binary-m32, binary-m68k,
binary-or1k, binary-s390, binary-hppa, binary-ia64, binary-sparc,
binary-powerpc, binary-alpha, binary-kfreebsd-i386, binary-s390x,
binary-mips64el, binary-kfreebsd-amd64, binary-mipsel,
binary-hurd-i386, binary-mips

### adam
* not much progress with mailman3 (will attempt to get further over
w/end)

## Old Actions

## New Business

### golinux
* Forum stuff

### plasma41
* So I've been researching the various methods of De{bi,vu}anizing
upstream tarballs into deb packages with the intent to write a
comprehensive guide on the forum. However, I keep finding new and old
edge cases and caveats that confuse things and necessitate further
research. For example, did you know that debmake >= 4.0 and debmake <
4.0 are two completely different programs written in two completely
different languages (python and shell, resp.) by completely different
people? (Citation: [#707601](https://bugs.debian.org/707601)) Now
imagine not realizing that and preparing to write a guide referencing
someone's criticism of the earlier debmake, all the while thinking
they were commmenting on the current debmake (or as I thought of it at
the time, debmake) and recommending based on that misunderstanding
that people use dh-make instead (which may yet be a good
recommendation, but not for the right reasons). (If you write a new
tool, please use a new name, thank you.)

### fsmithred
  * This just in (IRC) tor/onion v2 addresses are deprecated and have
    been disabled: https://blog.torproject.org/v2-deprecation-timeline
    This needs action on the server side from devuan.
  * (DPA) I need a v3 replacement for the one for pkgmaster
    (devuanfwojg73k6r.onion). There is also an old v2 mentioned on the
    website which needs to be replaced.
* Install info needed:
  * Install xfce desktop
  * Install clearlook-phenix-deepsea-theme
  * Set the theme in Appearance and Window manager settings.
  * Give me the files it creates in
    .config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/
* Thanks.

### rrq
* I want to rework the firewalling (again) to combine detections from
all VMs into the wall(s) on the nodes more consistently.

## New Actions
* (rrq) add a chimaera alpha desktop iso to auto-building
* (rrq) send a chimaera iso testing request

### Xenguy
* [ ]new tor address needed. ping parazyd.
