I was going to try the same in a beowulf VM I haven't used in over a
month, and I discovered that I already had the buster version installed.
No packages with systemd in the name are installed.

apt-cache depends udisks2=2.8.1-4
udisks2...

   Depends: libpam-systemd
     libpam-elogind


Looks like we're good to go with that.
