Subject: [DNG] (forw) Bug#929263: marked as done (/sbin and /usr/sbin are not in $PATH for unpriviledged users)
Kids these days. ;-> (I have no idea why I got notified about this
specific Debian bug.)

Call me a greybeard, but my instinctive response to '/sbin and /usr/sbin
are not in $PATH for unpriviledged [sic] users' would be 'Works as designed',
or 'Here's a nickel, kid, go buy some acquaintance with Unix.'

But that would be rude, and moreover the original querent honestly
didn't know, and was grateful for the resulting explanations. Happy ending!

tl;dr: https://xkcd.com/1053/

Hi,

Given that the bug submitter has expressed he has "learnt a lot"
from the responses to his bug, I believe this bug can be safely
closed.

I agree this is a point that can be discussed in our mailing lists or
other spaces - but it's no longer a bug.

Greetings,
