I *really* think the best way to handle this is to ignore both those
comments and those people.
The worst thing that could happen to Devuan and anything Debian-related
that is not fully invested in systemd, is that this turns into lengthy
useless flamewars.
It is clear that *we* are better off if these packages are maintained in
Debian, it is also clear that we are not the only ones, so we have to
help those packages stay afloat in Debian, with everything that may imply.
See what happens on DNG every once in a while. Once clearly pointless
threads are ignored, they nicely die out.
