Just to get it right, are there any real known bugs in LibBitcoin now (like freeze on full sync, that was recently), and what LiteCoin prospects are there now?

Do you believe some kind of modularization or semi-modularization would
be possible, e.g. a src/litecoin/ directory in the LibBitcoin repo that
plugs in to & reuses as much code as possible, perhaps that would be
much easier to maintain?
