are there any real known bugs in LibBitcoin now (like freeze on
full sync, that was recently), and what LiteCoin prospects are there now?

The hard freeze on full sync issue has been resolved and the software
is much more stable now and continues to be in testing. In generally,
it's recommended that you install the software using the installer
scripts rather than trying to build the components by hand (unless you
know what you're doing or are comfortable doing that).
I'm not aware of any actual litecoin forks of libbitcoin or work being
done there. The stack is modular and is continually getting cleaner
so I could see if someone invested the time that it could happen.
