     Thanks Steve for this interesting document.


     May I highlight an item in the description of how Free Software 
authors are motivated:

more like hobbyists spending their free time / energy on OSS project
development while maintaining other full time jobs. This has begun to
change somewhat as commercial versions of the Linux OS have appeared.>>

     The last sentence points one of the possible hopes of M$. And 
typically this is what led to Sxxxxxd.
