Ok, I woke up this morning, messed around with the custom.py and
managed to get scons looking for the dependencies in the right places,
so all is recognized. But when I really run scons (without -h) I get
following error:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXext
       Any ideas? I think there's missing a X library.
