I'd like to avoid Dbus as much as I can; but I'm sure my Xfce4 DE
needs it.

Dbus is a C++ thingy and C++ is a terribly bad  bastard language
which should rather be called C--. Maybe Dbus is a crap because i'ts
been designed by programmers with C++-twisted minds. The author of this
Dbus replacement should better devote 6 months of his time to learn some
better programming language.

Anyway, as can be read in the comments to the post, technical
choices are almost never driven by rationality but by the weight of
market-shares instead. And, before all, by the weight of bad habits.
