Noticed that Daedalus installation had left /etc/apt/sources.list with
"main non-free-firmware". Added "contrib non-free". Then installed
firmware-b43-installer.

firmware-b43-installer is in non-free rather than non-free-firmware?

In any case, no more complaints during boot.
