I see.

This is what I get with "xset q":
$ xset q

Right ...
There it is:
Screen Saver:
prefer blanking: yes allow exposures: yes
timeout: 600 cycle: 600
> ... turn off its "Screen Saver" and "DPMS" with "xset -dpms s off"
I did that when I long ago when I played around with [xorg.conf]
while attempting to get rid of the PM settings, among other X11
related things.
$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf | grep -i dpms
Option "DPMS" "0"
Option "DPMS" "0"
Option "DPMS" "0"
# Option "DPMS" "0" # <- this is for an uninstalled fourth monitor.
$
Maybe ["DPMS" "0"] does not override the [Screen Saver] setting?
Thanks for your input.
As always, much appreciated.
Best,
A.
