Thank you for the detailed reply. I still wonder if this procedure is
documented anywhere. I was not really aware of cdebootstrap and only
barely aware of debootstrap. :)

I have a SiFive P550 board which is currently running RHEL10. That is a
sad state of affairs but the RHEL10 stuff was trivial to install. It
seems to work so long as I never reboot it. That is entirely missing X11
and it is just stuffed to the brim with madness in terms of services no
one would ever want or need. Not the correct distro for a lab bench type
board like a RISC-V.

I will hunt around and see what there is for documentation on this new
cdebootstrap and then write up something myself.
