There are a handful of markdown preview sites online, that might be a
good place to start. I tend to use

It's reminiscent of the w3schools "try it" editor for HTML/PHP (etc.)
elements.
Though, with that being said, I also run a gitlab instance for
personal projects, and there is one project that is just snippets of
markdown I'm trying to write. There are also (probably) options for the
local PC, though I think they're all browser / electron based, as
opposed to say CLI/TUI.
Downside to any of these viewers is that they might not be the same
markdown engine that reddit is using, and your formatting might not come
across properly (or at all) when submitting it to reddit.
