I've used Reiserfs since the first time it appeared in Debian and
always considered it great. For a few recent releases of Devuan, I had
to trick a little the installation because it was not available in the
installer. Then it became completely impossible to install the rootfs on
Reiserfs, but it was still possible to create a home partition
afterwards. So, well, Debian drops it, but are you sure Linux does. I
always thought Linus was reluctant to remove support of software people
used, and which have no serious bug. There was a discussion recently
about HFS, which is essential to boot old Macs; let me point you to a
message of Linus which is a big breath of air:

https://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2023/07/msg00018.html

Just because of this message, I have a doubt that Reiserfs is being
dropped by the kernel. And I quote the last sentence because I love it:

/"Now, would it be good to have a maintainer for hgs? Obviously. But no,
we don't remove filesystems just because they don't have maintainers.
And no, we have not suddenly started saying "users don't matter". Linus"/
