Subject: [DNG] Something I wonder how many hours developers have wasted on usr-merge
Hi!

c66e51f7 - Runit support for LXCFS (Closes: #1087185).

https://salsa.debian.org/lxc-team/lxcfs/-/merge_requests/4#note_586841

Lintian complains:

E: lxcfs: wrong-path-for-interpreter /usr/bin/sh != /bin/sh [etc/sv/lxcfs/control/h]
E: lxcfs: wrong-path-for-interpreter /usr/bin/sh != /bin/sh [etc/sv/lxcfs/finish]

See Debian Policy 10.4: "Scripts may assume that /bin/sh implements the
POSIX.1-2017 Shell Command Language 7".

Given all the other bug reports and stuff and then some, I ask you:

How many wasted hours has it been for how many people?

Just venting some frustration with utter nonsense imposed on us by some
<sarcasm>who absolutely know better than everyone else</sarcasm>.

I sure hope people think more about the consequences of what they do. I
assume a huge lot more than a 1000 hours on dozens and dozens of package
developers just within the Debian project. Just for that usrmerge change.

What could have been done with that amount of time? Probably Debian could
travel to the moon all by itself already.

Best,
