You should turn them off. You're one person. If turning them off makes
things easier for you, you should just turn them off, because the
project needs a happy and energetic onefang, and your mirror is very
valuable to the project.

If there's somebody who wants to use apt with FTP, or download files via
rsync, they can use another mirror. But I bet there will be very few
folks valuing those options.
