OpenBSD makes great use of a separate /sbin by having all statically built
critical system binaries there. This means you can likely recover from the
actual system before resorting to a ram disk or busybox or use anything in /sbin
in certain scenarios knowing all the binaries are statically linked.
A Linux response may be immutable distros but I'm not a fan myself.
