..can't be adressed, or doesn't appear to respond? Try drop
e.g. oclock -geometry into-the-bad-half-of-your-display there,
man oclock for details, you may want it colorful.

...or monitor cable. Re-setting the cable connectors might be enough.

..these use the nouveau or NVIDIA Corporation's nvidea driver.
Chk with e.g. lshw |less

..try backing off/down on your screen resolution. If your problem
"goes away", you're "asking too much" of your current video setup.

..revert to your last working setup and start diagnosing from
there, you _may_ have found new a bug.
