..note that I said core system files, not all files.
Should be easier to simply convert Slackware tgz packages
to .deb packages with e.g. "alien --to-deb tgz-listnames",
details in 'man alien'. By design, Slackware is the more
conservative distro, and therefore a more reliable upstream
than the systemd controlled Debian.

..and Devuan is a middle ground between these, I guess we want
to keep doing package management with apt doing the dependency
management.
