On Debian, I found https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1022932 It says they remove fbpanel because it depends on Python 2. However,
dependency consists only in the `configure` utility and five helper modules in
./.config, which are used only to create a makefile and a config.h with the
relevant library names and similar.
I find it is a valid alternative to tint2. It would be a pity to loose it.
Perhaps configuration should be rewritten using autoconf or similar tools?
Anyone feeling to fork it?
