You're not necessarily back in business. If the keyboard stopped
working during the night without any action by you, this is probably an
intermittent, which means it could happen again at any time.

A very common cause of intermittent mice and keyboards is fretting
corrosion. Please read the following document:

Lubricate the contacts of your mouse usb, your keyboard PS, and the
adapter's usb. I suggest you lubricate all your USB ports. Doing so
costs you 20 minutes and can save you days of diagnosing intermittents.
