Same problem, namely overpriced for the features. Compare the $1500.00
https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/en/TUXEDO-InfinityBook-Pro-16-Mk1-Gen7.tuxedo
to the $850.00
https://www.costco.com/dell-inspiron-15.6%22-touchscreen-laptop---11th-gen-intel-core-i7-1165g7---1080p---windows-11%2c-black.product.100836060.html
.

The Costco offering has 16GB RAM as opposed to the Tuxedo 8GB. But
then again, the Tuxedo has 14 threads as opposed to the Costco's 8. So
it's kind of a wash. The Costco offering ridiculously includes a 1TB
spinning rust. It should have been more or just leave it out. The
Tuxedo is nice because you can specify your build. The Costco is nice
because you can buy it today. The Tuxedo offers a 14 day revocation
period. The Costco offers a 90 day return policy.

If they were the same price, I think it would be a flip of the coin
which to get. But they're not the same price. The Tuxedo is a whopping
76% more expensive.

For the desktop, Tuxedo offers a truly anemic computer for $1084 (and a
19% VAT).

I'll admit that its processor has the power for 2023-2025. But now look
at this Costco $500 Costco offering:

https://www.costco.com/lenovo-ideacentre-3-desktop---12th-gen-intel-core-i5-12400---windows-11.product.100857954.html

This topic was introduced by the threat of Redhat/Microsoft preventing
just plain Linux (without special distro bullshit) from running. If and
when it comes to that, yeah, I'll need to pay double. But so far, so
good, so I buy commodity on the laptop and a-la-carte components for
the desktop.
