### adam haven't had much time to devote to these issues, but
* mailman3 dragging along, any help/motivation appreciated.

working with 5.10 kernel series. just need to improve jenkins build
stability.

## Old Actions

## New Business
* (fsr) Posted in #devuan-dev channel this morning:
  * (blueness via IRC) Hi everyone, I'm the upstream maintainer of eudev
    and I want to give it away. I originally forked it for gentoo/musl
    but now we have systemd + openembedded patchs working in musl. I
    have no need to maintain it or time. Its in pretty good shape with
    just a few bugs, but does require someone with the expertise to
    understand the code.
    * (plasma41) I was recently poking around with eudev and AFAICT the
      current version of eudev is forked from a version systemd/udev
      before a rework of u2f/fido token support that I was wanting to
      use. I am a complete novice with the codebase, but I'd like to
      take a crack at updating eudev's udev code to a version after the
      u2f/fido rework.
* migration escapades: https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=4452
* wicd - we can has port?
  * spec and fund something new, or a port to Python 3?
    * Hendrik will explore and report whether he feels out of his depth.

### LeePen We have house guests, so I may not make the meeting tonight.
  Apologies.
  * gnu_srs said on IRC that he will update eudev this week to fix #589
    and #600 That will complete the packaging for chimaera that I know
    about. Note that now Debian has released Bullseye, our normal build
    route ceres->chimaera will rapidly become unworkable as unstable
    receives updated packages.
  * I am working on a script to identify missing initscripts. My idea is
    to hook it into sysv-rc. Then we can at least warn the user and/or
    invoke sysd2v.sh to generate the missing initscript.
  * Added accessibility notes from Greg Nowak to the [chimaera Release
    Notes
    pad](https://pad.dyne.org/code/#/2/code/edit/zrwXb4YnOlmO6fy2mPq4AsmR/).
  * Will set up chimaera-backports and daedalus in amprolla this
    weekend.

### golinux
* Time to decide the release codename for Devuan 6.0. We had this
  discussion on 2020-12-17:
  * Musing on [potential names for Devuan
    6.0](https://minorplanetcenter.net/iau/lists/MPNames.html#E).
    Previous releases: Jessie, ASCII, Beowulf, Chimaera, Daedalus 1.
    [Excalibur](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excalibur) (golinux really
    likes this one) (plasma) I also really like this one. (Xenguy) +1 2.
    Einstein 3. ~Elektra~ (the crazy lady? Really?) Greek mythology.
    Electra daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra. Also (with a "k")
    Alban Berg and Strauss operas (I'd totally forgotten that
       Strauss did it too). 4. ~Enterprise~ (ugh - too commercial)
    * (Beer) Commercial? Enterprise is also the name of the flagship in
      the Star Trek franchise, calling for adventure in "uncharted
      territories". This would underline the amazing and courageous
      endavour of forking a major distribution ()by those who allowed it
      to exist and made it in the first place) to set free from poor
      decisions with high impact. 5. Eureka (We had that moment in 2014)
      6. Everest (Please let it be easier than that.) uninspiring. Also
      too similar to Europe) 7. (Xenguy) Newly added:
      [Eris](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eris_(mythology)) (but
      careful what you wish for)
      * Eris (Ερις) is the goddess of discord and strife. Her parents
        are different depending on the myth; in some myths she is the
        daughter of Zeus and Hera while in other myths she is the
        daughter of Erebos and Nyx, or sometimes Nyx alone. Eris is the
        primary deity of the religion of
        [Discordianism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discordianism) and
        the namesake of the dwarf planet Eris.
        * (mason) A host of thumbs up!
          * https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Eris
          * https://www.theoi.com/Daimon/Eris.html
          * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EFnet 8. (Hendrik)
            '[Edda](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edda)' isn't bad
            either. A different mythology from the usual Graeco-Roman
            one. And if we want to challenge keyboard users, 'Eötvös'.
            9. (Adam)
            [Euphrosyne](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euphrosyne) (in
            contrast to Eris). In some accounts, Euphrosyne was a
            daughter of the primordial gods, Erebus (Darkness) and Nyx
            (Night). Euphrosyne is a Goddess of Good Cheer, Joy and
            Mirth. 10. (rrq) [Egal](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egal)
            11. (mason)
            [Eratosthenes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eratosthenes)
            12. (Beer)
            [Epistrophos](https://www.behindthename.com/name/epistrophos/submitted):
            On a rope, escaping in a hurry (from the PID 1 bloatware
            prison/danger)?
  * Note to Xenguy . . . This bit of info will need to be added to
    https://www.devuan.org/os/releases when the page is updated for the
    Chimaera release

### Xenguy
* Still working to update Chimaera documentation, in the `documentation`
repo (master branch), but mostly in the `www.devuan.org` repo (local
branch). Progress is slower than expected.
* Hendrik made his first commit in the `documentation` repo -- thank you
: -)

### Hendrik
* Is there a piece of documentation somewhere advising how to get out of
  trouble halfway through an upgrade? If so, I'd like to link to it.
  What *I* do if I'm stuck is to post a message to the dng list. There
  should be something less intrusive.
* The covert conflict. I encountered two packages which conflicted, but
  were not properly declared to conflict. dpkg refused to deal with the
  mess and the apt* utilities had no idea what to do. I should probably
  report this as a bug to Debian after checking the details on their
  packages site?
* Is there a recommended (and securely written) markdown processor? The
  one I use (omd) doesn't handle triple tilde's properly.
  * (Xenguy) I could only find 2 in the Beowulf software repo, i.e.
    `Pandoc` (looks decent) and `Markdown` (looks lacking).
  * (gl) I've always done it the old-fashioned way - in a text editor.
    Same for html . . .

## New Actions
* (Hendrik) Investigate porting wicd...
* (Hendrik) try out some markdown converters
