Subject: [devuan-dev] rmadison access to Devuan's dak
Hi all,

A recurrent theme in recent discussions of package maintenance has been keeping
track of when forked Devuan packages are out of date with respect to
Debian[1]. Hopefully to make this easier, I have just enabled the API to query
information from our instance of dak.

To make use of it:-

- Install the devscripts package.

- Configure the Devuan URL by adding
"RMADISON_URL_MAP_DEVUAN=https://api.pkginfo.devuan.org/madison" to
~/.devscripts

- Use rmadison with '-u devuan' switch to query Devuan's packages.

Example:-

% rmadison xrdp
xrdp | 0.6.1-2 | oldoldstable | source, amd64, armel, armhf, i386
xrdp | 0.9.1-9+deb9u3 | oldstable | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips, mips64el, mipsel, ppc64el, s390x
xrdp | 0.9.1-9+deb9u3 | oldstable-debug | source
xrdp | 0.9.8-2~bpo9+1 | stretch-backports | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips, mips64el, mipsel, ppc64el, s390x
xrdp | 0.9.8-2~bpo9+1 | stretch-backports-debug | source
xrdp | 0.9.9-1+deb10u1 | stable | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips, mips64el, mipsel, ppc64el, s390x
xrdp | 0.9.9-1+deb10u1 | stable-debug | source
xrdp | 0.9.12-1.1 | testing | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips64el, mipsel, ppc64el, s390x
xrdp | 0.9.12-1.1 | unstable | source, ppc64el, s390x
xrdp | 0.9.12-1.1 | unstable-debug | source
xrdp | 0.9.15-1 | unstable | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips64el, mipsel
xrdp | 0.9.15-1 | unstable-debug | source
% rmadison -u devuan xrdp
xrdp | 0.9.12-1.1+devuan1 | unstable | source, amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, ppc64el

I will add this information to the Maintainers guide.

I will also try to get Devuan's rmadison url added to the Debian package so
manual configuration will no longer be necessary.

Best wishes

Mark
