I can confirm that the PineTab I have at home had similar problems. But
it is a very early PineTab -- from before the Pinephone even went on
pre-sale, so I don't know how well my issues translate.

In any case, I believe the problem is in the u-boot board detection. The
PineTab DTS is not picked up, and then the screen doesn't init since the
DTS is all wrong.

You can probably fix this by making all the DTS files in /boot be a copy
of the Pinetab one. Longer term -- I need to look at my PineTab at home
(I'll be home in a week) and maybe then we can debug/compare the u-boot
board detection of our derives.

In any case, with the above fix, the PineTab I have at home had working
display last week.
