I'm on devuan jessie. What I did is this:

I enabled MX 15 repository* and installed from there
linux-image-4.8.0-2.1-liquorix-amd64 and
virtualbox 5.1.8-dfsg-3mx150+3

I don't remember any problems from installing those some time last year.
