By desktops I mean DEs, and none of I have ever met
have hard dependency on systemd. They have kind
of --no-systemd flags, I suppose. And how there can be
a dependency on systemd, when the DE is in repos,
but systemd isn't? They are built appropriately.
Someone could compile these DEs (not these, but
actually GNOME3 and maybe Cinnamon) for Debian
without systemd deps, I even once thought to do it,
but, first of all, they suck (yeah, I couldn't even upgrade
Jessie with GNOME to Sid, even without systemd
shenanigans, not to mention, how unstable they are),
and, secondly, people, that care whether they use
systemd or not, at the very least don't use this
software, but most of the time they hate it.
