have a look at the umatrix addon [1], it lets you completely control what
resoures a site gets to load: cookies, images, css, scripts, frames, plugins,
xhr

And since it remembers what you allow/disallow it's doable to run with very
restricive defaults, and just whitelist whatever your most used sites need
