Subject: Re: [DNG] Please Adopt Bastille Linux Security Script for Devuan. Please.
To Those opposed:
I know you like to recently start imagining this project here as the
successor to Ian's*(RIP) project

Ian's project was happy to incorporate scripts to help in the
hardening of the system, His project was happy to add all measures
of good task-specific programs to make the linux the best operating
system it could be. There was no mocking of the very idea of
a security script. It was known that one cannot do everything
under the sun themselves with every install. Right there in
the Debian 6 manual Bastille is discussed. I know Ian had left
by then for a long time, but Debian still retained its soul then.
Which started to fall away by Debian 7, and now, with Systemd/Linux
is gone from that tree.

If Devuan devs reject such things as Bastille it suggests that there
really is no true successor to Ian's project.

There is just SJW-Pottering OS, and Druthers System Admin that
doesn't know what he doesn't know DevStub.

No true Debian.

*Ian you didn't do it right. Hans Reiser did it right, and he's still
alive. Ian you should have taken away your enemies. Hans Reiser did
the right thing, the only thing wrong was that he didn't do enough of
it.
He followed the God of Deuteronomy, he killed the adulterous woman as
he is commanded to do in the book. He removed bad influence, and knew
that
the influence was not himself. Why Ian, did you go softly, when you
could
have become Legend like the creator of KillerFS has. Mr Reiser obeyed
the God of Deuteronomy, and he lives and may remove bad influence again.
You, Ian, obeyed the god of today, and killed yourself rather than your
enemies (real or percieved). Good night Ian, if your sould is yet to
sleep
pray that Sir Reiser places your burden upon himself and does what you
should have done.
