Glad to hear that OSS4 works for you. I look forward to
experimenting with it on my new installation (currently
blocking on problems getting it to boot.)

FWIW, if you need a stereo to 5.1 converter or something
similar, we have one for Ecasound, developed by Patrick
Shirkey. And also in Nama, an Ecasound-based DAW.

Hope you can find a way to get what you want. The Linux
Audio Users list is the authoritative forum.
