I haven't been keeping up, but do Perl and Emacs really require
recompilation to work without systemd, if not, I'm not seeing the point in
tossing them or a complete re-packaging effort, just drag in the Debian
packages. Probably 98% of the distro, by quantity anyway, doesn't involved
systemd in any way, so it'll just work unless we start doing weird things.
