Sounds like he's an idealist :)

I wonder if any projects have already adopted the idea I suggested? I
wasn't able to find any by googling. But it seems simple enough to put an
addendum saying that after so many years all restrictions on the code (as
of that revision) would be dropped, but until then it must abide by the GPL.
